PFSense

PFsense: pfSense is a firewall/router distribution based on a fork from the m0n0wall project. Based on the FreeBSD Operating System pfSense is meant to be installed on a personal computer and offers advanced features often only found in expensive commercial firewalls.






 This is a  powerful routing and firewalling.you can make your own router and customize to meet your demand. is is a free software but configuring a little tricky if your not a tech guy , but there are many guide, notes and forum to leech some information on this technology you can save a spot cash to buy a expensive router your old pc can be acting as a router ,





 i used this sofware in my internet shop and i amazed that Pfsense can do than any other router device , i can used dual WAN or two or three ISP, i can block any site , i can make a fail over type of connection DHCP or Static wifi or any type of connection . of course it save my cash for expensive dual wan router ..one more great things about this PFsense is a hardware requirements 


Minimum Hardware Requirements

CPU - 100 MHz Pentium
RAM - 128 MB
Requirements specific to individual platforms follow.  
Live CDCD-ROM drive
USB flash drive or floppy drive to hold configuration file
Hard drive installation
CD-ROM for initial installation
1 GB hard drive
Embedded
512 MB Compact Flash card
Serial port for console
